The conclusion of the agreement was accompanied by a ceremony attended not only by the main representatives of the entities involved, but also by high representatives of central and local authorities. The meeting on November 5 in Jesionka was attended, among others, by Deputy Minister Maciej Małecki – Secretary of State in the Ministry of State Assets, Deputy Minister Małgorzata Jarosińska-Jedynak – Secretary of State in the Ministry of Funds and Regional Policy, and Deputy Minister Wojciech Murdzek – Secretary of State in the Ministry of Education and Science. The local authorities were represented by the Marshal of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Władysław Ortyl.
The founders of the Space Technologies Cluster include a wide group of commercial and public entities – enterprises, scientific and research organizations, representatives of the academic community and institutions surrounding the space sector. As declared in the commemorative announcement, KTK associates entities responsible for over 85 percent. the potential of the Polish space market.
The signing of the Space Technologies Cluster agreement is a continuation of the activities started in January this year. by the Self-government of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, the EXATEL company – a Polish telecommunications operator, as well as the Rzeszów University of Technology and the State University of Technology and Economics in Jarosław. The task to be fulfilled by the cluster is to develop resources and competences related to space technology and technologies – in order to effectively supply the market with components of satellite systems, and in the future to be able to create fully functional space systems.
The basis of a strong Poland is sovereignty. Sovereignty in every domain – be it energy, military, cyber or finally space. It must be based on building and developing one’s own competences.
Thanks to KTK, the entire sector can cooperate to better create Polish solutions for the needs of Poland, but also for foreign markets – and thus build international expansion. I know that today’s event is of great value in this context, here are the most important players in the Polish space sector are starting to work together, creating a mechanism that allows them to combine their potential.
The activities of the Cluster are to be guided by the pursuit of, inter alia, to implement the assumption outlined in the National Reconstruction Plan on the design and installation of the Polish constellation of observation microsatellites by 2026. The indicated goal is also building the image of Poland as a country actively operating in the space area, taking into account the implementation of both economic and military interests.

Signing the Cluster agreement is the culmination of several months of preparations and the choice of the best formula at the moment. When establishing the Cluster, we wanted the entire industry to be able to co-create the institutional and financial framework necessary for the development of space initiatives. The founding companies of KTK have repeatedly shown that they are able to successfully implement the most complex projects. We want to go further and fully commercialize the current and future results of our work. We also know that together we have a potential comparable to that of many foreign companies – so far we only lacked a consolidation tool.
There were 20 different entities among the KTK members – signatories of the founding agreement of the Space Technologies Cluster. They include: Astri Polska, Astronika, Creotech Instruments SA, Energo-Tel, Exatel, ITTI, KP Labs, PCO, PIAP Space, Scanway, Spaceforest, Thorium Space; as well as scientific and research organizations and institutes – Space Research Center of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Air Force Institute of Technology, State Higher School of Technology and Economics Fr. Bronisław Markiewicz, Podkarpackie Innovation Center, Rzeszów University of Technology Ignacy Łukasiewicz, Rzeszów Regional Development Agency, Łukasiewicz Research Network (Łukasiewicz Center), as well as the Military University of Technology named after Jarosław Dąbrowski.
This is another initiative that unites the space industry and builds its strength at the same time. Just [dzień wcześniej] the official inauguration of the PIAST satellite constellation project, a groundbreaking undertaking for Poland, on which specialists from the most important Polish institutions and companies in the space sector are working.

The space industry is collaborative. In just two years, in 2023, the EagleEye satellite is planned to be launched into orbit around the Earth, constructed for the needs of the country’s defense. Now, thanks to the Cluster, we will be able to cooperate more widely with other leading Polish companies, including the initiator of KTK, Exatel. We are convinced that this cooperation will bring benefits to the entire Polish space sector, and thus also to our country.
